Surfing in Cornwall? Try Marazion
Looking to surf in Cornwall without the crowds of Newquay or the heavy breaks of the north coast?
Marazion is a quiet favourite. It is scenic, beginner friendly, and right across from the iconic St Michael’s Mount.
When to Surf
The waves here are best around mid to high tide. Low tide opens up a wide beach but can flatten the waves. If you’re planning a session, check the live tide and weather tracker on our homepage or if you want a live look at the surf? Check the Surfline Marazion wave viewer for real-time visuals, swell direction, and wind data.
It will hopefully look a like more active than this!
Need Lessons or Gear?
If you’re new to surfing or just need a board, there are a couple of great local options:
- Ocean High – Offers paddleboarding, kitesurfing, and lessons right on the beach.
- Global Boarders – Marazion Surf School – Professional instructors and surf hire, operating around Marazion and nearby beaches.
After Your Surf
Dry off and grab a bite in town. The beach wall is a great spot to sit with food and take in the view. Staying over?
If the surf is flat, there are still plenty of things to do in Marazion, from walking the causeway to the Mount to exploring local cafés and galleries.
Wrap-up
Marazion is an ideal spot for relaxed surfing in Cornwall. It is easy-going, well-connected, and offers consistent conditions when the tide is right. Check the forecast, paddle out, and enjoy the ride.
